I'm running the stock E30 AC fan. Seems to do an okay job but the AC shop said it's barely enough. I'm afraid it won't be able to beat the summer heat in Thailand. That's why I want a second one, in addition to an upgraded AC condenser.

Mine gets hot in summer with the AC on if im not moving at reasonable pace, the fan struggles to cool it down. But, I dont have the lower cut-out in the valance or even the one thats meant for the oil cooler, I really dont want to change the valance so im going to try and get a thicker cored rad made which will hopefully help

Yep, had that in mind for a while, will practice on my track car first though :)
Also going to try and duct the air at the rad properly as im sure loads is going straight past it out the sides, maybe chop up an old standard duct that usually gets binned when fitting an elec fan

M3 Grilles needed Dan there's a lot more air passes through the slats, is that an Aircon kidney?

There was a plate for the M3 that covers the gap between the slam panel and the rad, forcing air through.. Could be worth a look. X-Works made one up..

No gap there on mine mate, the E36 rad is up against the front panel.
M3 grille would be better, about 20% more airflow I reckon?

I think its just a standard kidney Steve, AC just has the top blanks chopped out innit :)

I checked mine it runs a 16 inch ken Lowe fan if I got the name right it keeps cool not sure if it's due to weather being cold but even when stoped temp is not high about half or under ,

Interesting. Never knew the M3 grilles were different.

I'm not sure what gap or blank-off in the grilles you guys are talking about. Could you elaborate more please?
