Hey Andy, nice to know you're still bumming about here. Don't think for a minute I was criticising the work you did or the condition of things, I knew you were one of the first to do the conversion and its been refined ever since and as for the oil leak it would be impossible to see with the lump in.
The shell is absolutely fubar but it was always going to be a doner as you know. As is so often the case with these cars its not till you strip them that you find out how bad they are. On the plus side it has a good solid roof which I am going to re-use.
The scorched bearing was the one from the front of the engine and I've been told its because the sump isn't baffled so its possibly down to the drag strip action. I'll look into that later, as it is I now know the engine inside out which is never a bad thing.
Still got the angle
eyes if you're still deviant enough for em.

It may be coming back up for sale again, I've told the lad to let me know if he needs to sell it. Wait till you see the M3 when I've done with it
full body job coming up.
Looks like I'm stuck with the angel eyes then

I wish i could repair bodywork
I can't wait to see the m3
Can't give them lights away
I would have had the dash clocks back but i see they've gone.
One thing i meant to say before about the fuel problem i had.It used to hesitate after a long right hand bend, fast right hand bend or roundabout when below 1/4 tank of fuel.A swirl pot was going to be the solution.

Im currently on 64% but have been a bit full lately, feel free to try again.Jhonno wrote:Matt, is your PM box full? I did reply to you re the check panel, but it appears sat in my Outbox.. I PM'd you aaaaages ago about some bodywork also, and that did the same.
Body resto will begin when i get my garage built and i think i may be going down the route of fully refurbing a second shell with dipping along the way as per xworks. This way i can keep mine on the road as long as possible in the meantime as i expect to be going nuts on this one.

My first post on this site......just wanted to say nice write up!
I'm researching the S50B32 swap. I have a E30M3 and a complete RHD S50B32 6SPD. Looks like I will have my hands full, but it sure seems worth it! As an S14 purist I never thought I would consider such a swap.
This site is a great source of info.... Thanks!

The S14 is currently being rebuilt. Once completed, it will get some rest on a pallet along with all my other original parts. I'm actually purchasing a complete E36M3 3.2 six speed so I will have most of my swap parts. Once I take delivery of the E36, I will start my own thread......
