i got myself a 87 e30 325i cab. Love the car but I will be doing a lot of mods to it, from engine swap to getting a hardtop for the cabby.

In a nut shell wot I am looking for is a simple, easy, and convenient way to do a engine swap. So I heard the best solution would have to be a s50 swap. Would this be true guys?

im jus looking for enough power so i dont have to remove any or most of the stock parts; suspension, master brake cylinder, etc.

plus im not quite too familiar with the acronyms most of u guys use here, ima noob remember? :o

S50 is the E36 M3 engine, it's quite an involved swap, costing on average £5-£6k.

M50 is the 2.5 24v lump out of E36 325i and E34 525i from about H-J plate onwards, both involve changing the brake servo for inlet manifold clearance.

If you want to do a swap an S50 is far from easy, and you will need a budget of around 6K.

What is your budget?

The M power engines do, but the non M Power 24v lumps just need the E30 servo swapping for a clio one, retaining E30 master cylinder in standard position
