So basically I have an 80k (supposedly) 93 e36 m42 block with the front crankcase ventilation that has been sitting for 8 years and want to make a full (almost) rebuild of this block. what will I need apart from timimng chain kit, lifters, rings and bearings?
Engine has an e30 intake, ported valves and increased cr.
Thanks

Does this engine have a timing belt? The M42 normally has a chain.

1993 should mean it has the timing chain curved lower left hand guide rail and not that stupid gear - converting to the curved guide rail is essential on a rebuild now. The gear is okay - it the allot timing case that fatigue fractures where the gear's retaining bolt screws in.
