I have a 316i (E30) with ECU [0261200387] but I've realized that comes from 318i (E30) already bought and didn't know the goal right now is to know what exactly is the motronic ECU 1.??? and if is exactly equal to the original hardware, and I mean 316i already now some I can provide the original bin 316i (E30).

1. The ECU hardware [0261200387] of the 318i 316i just like?

2. is it possible to get the original Bin 316i (E30) 1989?

ECU for the 1.6 M40 E30 is 0261200174.
Yours is the ECU for the 1.8, as you say, but are you sure that the engine hasn't been changed to a 1.8 as well? They are identical to the 1.6 from the outside, and share most of the same parts, apart from the obvious. Only the AFM is different externally.

I have an M40 ECU taken years ago from a 1990 316i - but it's actually for an E34 518i. The number is 0261 200 986.

A 1.8 ECU will probably be fine - it will just give a little extra fuelling. But the ignition timing will be slightly out - the 318i engine has a longer stroke than the 1600, thus it'll have a faster piston speed and they piston will thus get to BTDC slightly faster than in the 1600 unit.

A correct 316i ECU will cost you about 30-40 quid. They never go wrong so nobody really sells one. Pete on here (Sweep) is breaking a very low mileage 316i and has an ECU.
