Would this be an easy swap? I'm thinking off get an e36 is lump as there abit easier cheaper too find with better mileage? Would I need too change gear box? Brakes? Etc thanks

I have a 98k e30 318is m42 engine here.

You would need the 318is exhaust system and engine mounts. You can use your m40 gearbox and prop though.

Okay mate so everything's the same apart from exhaust and engine mounts? Would I need a new diff? I'm not looking for an engine yet but how much u looking for buddy?

you may need a 4.10 diff if you want the motorway driving to be better. Is the diff iS came with.

I'd be looking for around £220 for the engine. It's low mileage and before I put it in my car I changed a lot of gaskets etc.

You will need exhaust and engine mounts though because the parts I used were race parts and aren't suitable on a road car.

the LSD option was rare but most of them are just standard small case open diffs.
