IT HAS THE FULL M3 BODY KIT FROM FACTORY AND IS IN THE RIGHT BLUE TOO AS WELL AS M3 SPEC ALLOYS THICK AT THE BACK AND LESSER FRONT DISHES , I BOUGHT A LITTLE RUN AROUND , WHAT SHOULD I DO ? SELL IT AS SCRAP OR FIT A REPLACEMENT M42 ? I'M TORN APRT NOT SURE IF I SHOULD LET SOMEONE ELSE HAVE IT ? A BIT GOOD TO SCRAP .

JHONNO why do you always get to be the first to shoot down anything i post ? did i do something to you at some point ? thinking we have never met ? the car has a m42 318is all i mean is its good to scrap so i don't know what to do.
did i not post in the m40 and m42 engine section ? why are you offended by the letters i used ? i think there are more important things to worry about than to be just petty all the time . i am not looking to exchange words with you but i just feel you are always on my case if i offend you that much , you can ignore me. thanks

I've made about 2 comments on whatever it is you have going on..
My post above was relating to the fact you seemed to perhaps have a later is with the M44, so was trying to be helpful. The capitals comment was a forum etiquette so again, a pointer in the right direction.
Perhaps you are over sensitive?

Just out of interest, what is an e42?
I wonder if it's me I just notice you seem a bit sarcastic at times and I don't roll that way I come on here to ask for genuine advice and not to be a clown . If you meant no malice sorry . On the next post I don't know what is a e42 I think I said a 318is m42 e36 coupe ? In reference to red car did you read it right ? I try and get my facts right before I gauge how sensitive people are especially when they are not talking to me .
Just said it in your title. I think you may have meant an M42 rather than e42.e30s50b30 wrote:I wonder if it's me I just notice you seem a bit sarcastic at times and I don't roll that way I come on here to ask for genuine advice and not to be a clown . With regards to your original post, if it's too good to scrap, as you say, then surely it would make sence keep it and just fit a new engine. The engines aren't expensive at all, and you would only need the tall engine excluding any ancilleries etc.
You say the engine overheated, what makes you think it overheated and what state is the engine in at current. Does it still start and run alright? In your first post you mention radiator...does this mean that you have sourced the reason as to why the engine overheated in the first place?

If the engine is toast and the car is too good to scrap, fit a new engine?
A 'short' block is just the block on it's own with the piston/crank assembly fitted.
The term 'tall' is to describe an engine that consists of a block and head with relevant timing gear but no ancilleries.e30s50b30 wrote:Ps what's a tall engine ?
