m40 to m42 auto to manual conversion help needed

looking for a suitible doner engine for a m42 conversion, can i use an auto engine then put my flywheel and gearbox on it or will i have issues with ecu's etc cheers

ECU won't give any problems, although the gearbox input shaft will, unless you fit a correctly sized spigot bearing into the end of the crankshaft.

If an engine comes from an auto car, the auto has to do with the gearbox, not the engine so it doesn't matter.

If your car is an auto you will need to fit a manual pedal box to allow for the clutch pedal and smaller brake pedal. You will then have to fit the appropriate clutch master and slave cylinders and pipe work.

So what's this M42 engine coming from? No UK M42 engined E30 ever left the factory with an auto box attached to it.
