Good morning,

I am just wondering if anyone can help me, as there seems to be a lot of conflicting information / part numbers and links to US sites... Can someone confirm where I can purchase a full set of M42 exhaust manifold studs?

I have been told to change these whilst I have the exhaust off of the engine as I am putting a stainless steel system on.

On a side note, i am thinking of having the exhaust made in 2.5" (63.5mm) stainless steel tubing - is that a good bore for the exhaust?

Cheers,

Ted

They don't 'need' to be replaced if it proves hard finding them at the moment. What you may find is when you go to unscrew your manifold the studs may come out with the nut and some won't. You can normally save these studs by carefully gripping them and with the application of heat free up and remove the nut. the studs can then be refitted. However if you do want to replace them they're available from BMW: 07 12 9 908 199 or if you wish to purchase elsewhere they are M7 X 45.
