Is there an alternative sump for the M42.

I'm dropping an M44 into a 1602 and it requires the use of the M42 sump. But it's going to be really low down, especially if I lower the car too.

Are there any alternatives for the lower sump ?

There are steel sumps available on ebay, they use them in a german rally championship. they are about an inch shorter.

The problem I see with that is bolting a steel sump to an aluminium casing is if you smack the sump, sure the pan is fine, but that impact will just be transferred up into the aluminium upper sump and that's a far bigger cluster f*ck to change. Or am I just over thinking it?
