Engine swap information m40b16 to M44b19
I have a 1990 318 touring with the m40b18 engine and wonder if anyone has information or has done a swap to M44b19, whats needed and is it fairly straight forward?

I'd like to do te same thing to my e30 but apparentely, there's not much information.
Some say it's a bit more difficult due to electronics, but if we get everything from a donor e36, is it that difficult?

Ifs not difficult, the wiring is basically the same as an M52 swap.
Off the top of my head - There's an issue with the using the M44 PAS pump, you'll need E30 M40/M42 sump, engine arms/mounts and exhaust manifold and system (with lambda sensor bung welded in). The rad pipes are a bit of a pain as the M44 thermostat pipes are at a different angle to the M42 ones. The dipstick tube needs tweaking to fit around the belt and tensioners. The M44 temp sender won't work the E30 gauge.
