EWS isn't a problem unless you don't have a matching key. The antenna ring can be fitted to an E30 steering column, and the chip from the key will fit inside an E30 torch key. It's also the only way you will fit an effective immobiliser to an E30 that anyone with a little electrical knowledge can't defeat in seconds.
The thing you need to be aware of is CANBUS.

Yeah I got whole car so I'm not to worried about it the only searches I've came up with is we're people have combined m42 an m44 engines because people don't have the news side of the m44

I'll be starting this project in New year so I'll post all I do on here

I've got an M44 waiting to be fitted to my touring. Had the engine a few months now, but I've just not found the time to do another engine conversion.

Wiring wise, it should be the same as an M52 conversion, including the EWS.

I've actually just taken my touring off the road now, so might actually get stuck in soon!

Been there, done that - Ive still got my 325i and have done a 3.0 24v conversion in the past.
Plus the touring is my daily and the missus might have to drive it.... 8O

but il be so jealous if you get it done i love those engine my friend had a e36 coupe with 1 in it n/a we managed 250bhp and i witnessed him ( i was passenger) absolutly rinse an e46 m3.
i was gunna superduper charge mine and its stoked to 2.1
