M40 from E36 and E30, does it is same?

hello, sorry being double post in technical forum.

I have e30 m40 with engine block and oil pump house crack, but my old cylinder head is really healthy without any problem.

I will use my old e30 cylinder head to E36 cylinder block with it is original parts inside.

does is it possible?

I know I should use my old e30 oil pan also

E36 M40 has longer connecting rod and shorter piston, so what is pro and cons?

I will use e30 ecu, cable harness, and all parts from e30, and can I use my old E30 transmission to E36 engine block?

Really need help because tomorrow I will decide to buy the e36 engine block or not.
