i noticed a couple of weeks back that my idle was slightly hunting once my E30-iS had warmed up and was sitting on tick-over, so yesterday armed with a can of unipart carb-cleaner & a spare 10 min's

i cleaned away any soot in the throttle body.. & the idle control valve, TBH the inners of the throttle body were very clean but the ICV was badly in need of a clean! once all back together the difference was very noticeable and the idle is spot on again.
ive seen many post's off folk saying the ICV on a 318iS (M42) is a pain in the butt to remove! .. why do folk think this?
i thought it was straight forward to remove & easy enough to replace, one 11mm bolt, one jubilee clip and 2 push on hoses. just refit the bottom hose first, before you offer up the ICV bracket to it's mounting bolt
