Timing chain cost for a 318is 1993

That's very cheap i'd say. I'm guessing that they will only be changing the chain and nothing else, not good and a waste of time and money

When i was looking to do this about 4 years ago parts alone were about £400 that was all gaskets, sprockets, guide rails and tensioner. No point changing the chain when everything else is wornout, will just make the chain wear even quicker.

thats including parts, from a mates dad he worked for BMW for 10 years

100% agree with this, I am in the process of changing mine. I would imagine that quote is chain only. If you are a biker its like changing your chain but not bothering to do your sprockets at the same time.
