M52 swap.
I've added the brown temp sensor for the cluster next to the original m5x one. I know that I need to wire in a new plug for the new (brown) sensor. I also know that it's the brown/violet wire that goes to pin 4 on the c101 plug. My question is do I cut the wire off the original m5x sensor completely or just splice in to it and take a feed to the new sensor? Does the old sensor still need that wire aswell?

I believe there is another port in the cylinder head with a blanking plug, you should be able to fit the original E30 brown temp sensor in there and wire it as standard.

I've already got the e30 temp sensor in place next to the original one. I was just unsure weather I can just cut the brown/violet wire off the original one and move it to the e30 sensor or does it have to stay there, and wire in a completely separate wire to the e30 sensor.

I would move it to the E30 sensor so that the E30 Gauge is connected to the E30 sensor.
