Hi,

I have been working on my friend swap, and it doesn't want to start.
I checked at the fuel pump relay and I found that it is not working. So I'm thinking that maybe the ews could be the problem, but I'm not sur if it was an ews car or not.

The DME is a 0261200413 red label ecu. Does this one come with ews? If yes how can I get rid of it. And if it's not an ews ecu what could hold my fuel pump relay from working?

If it can help the harness come from an 94 e36, when I looked, I didn't found any ews controler and there was no ring antenna.

Thanks (sorry for my bad english :D )

413 red label doesn't have EWS. Silver label 413 does.
Fuel pump relay should switch on when the ECU receives pulses from the crank position sensor, which are also used to produce the signal for the spark plugs.
Next thing to check is if there is a spark when a spare plug is connected to one of the coil packs.
Crank position sensors have been known to fail, but if this engine has never worked in its new location, then it's far more likely to be a wiring error.

there was an after market alarm but we disconnected it and tested on the e36 before taking the engine of the car.
Brianmooore So if the ecu need the signal from the crank sensor the pump will only work when I crank the engine. Am I right? Because I'm testing all the component for the moment to be sur everything is ok in the harness, and never tried to se if I have 12v on the fuel pump while cranking the engine.

Yes, fuel pump relay turns on when the engine is cranking.
