Hi,

As the subject suggests I am swapping my M10 carbed engine for a M52B25.

Now so far I have the engine gearbox wiring loom and radiator.

Reading through the threads on the forum I have established I will need to change the sump on the M52 to one from a e34. Can someone clarify is this from any e34? or a particular engine? also if someone knows anyone breaking one or has a sump let me know would be much appreciated!

Engine mounts I believe would need to be changed? but again some clarity and direct would be great.

And really if anyone has any other advice on this particular swap please give it.

Can anyone give me a parts list of what will be needed.

I have been advised to change:
Headgasket and get head skimmed?
Cambelt kit
waterpump
oil pump
oil filter
oil
spark plugs
coolant thermostat
fuel pump

As you can guess I am no mechanic and I am very new to this I have mechanics who will be helping with the swap but they have not worked on a e30 conversion before so yeah hopefully someone can help!

Thanks in advance

Sump needs to be from m50 2.5 e34. Expect to pay around £200

Also good luck changing the cam belt :D

Yes, sump, etc. is the same, but the inlet manifold, although very similar, isn't.

Thanks

I have found an M50 2.0 from an E34 for sale for £120.00

Although I don't need the whole engine I may buy it just for the sump at that price.

Yeah sump kits alone seem to be selling for about that now anyway!
