ECU shenanigans

Ive just bought myself an M50b25, however it never came with an ecu =( Im looking into getting the correct ecu for it, i know that this engine had ews so am I right in thinking I need a silver tag 413? Obviously with ews delete? any help would be much appreciated <3

You will want a non EWS ecu for easy instal yes, I may be able to supply so send me a pm if needed

You need a purple label 413 (= silver label 413 without EWS.) Totally interchangeable.

so the red label one is no good? I had a little look for the purple label ones but couldnt find any =(

red = purple. Actual colour is more maroon.

The only difference between the red and the silver is what has been written onto the chip, silvers are non-ews after fitting an aftermarket chip.
Programming the ews in the chip is a ball ache so 99% of aftermarket chips use the red label program.

tbh i even struggled finding ecu's with the ews!! plenty of red labels about so I should be all good. Ill be after a remap and raised limiter anyways. Just wish I actually got an ecu with the engine =(
