Hi,
i know there is allot of info on the gearbox options for your engine swaps but there is not allot of info on using the standard m40 318 box.
apparently this is possible which would mean i could keep standard diff/prop and save some money !
i am just wondering if anyone on here has used this box and has it been okay coping with the new power !
also what clutch/flywheel options do i need to go with this setup,
thanks

e30 zone Wiki link for you on the topic

http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... Swap_-_M5x

some more info, has a parts list on his,

your diff should be 6 bolt (small) diff and the ratio will suite the m40, not ideal for the m50/m52, the revs will be close to 3000 at 60mph, you will need a 3.64/3.73 depending on you preference and large diff, 8 bolt, cheers.
