I found this in the sump of an S50 conversion I was sorting some issues out on

Needless to say it went in the bin and a new E34 pickup with the proper strainer went on

Dan, that wasn't a car that got built by someone in Mansfield was it?

Jesus Dan, epic bodgery 8O I bet the rest of the conversion was great - check out that manifold and O2 sensor placement :?

Are the E34 pickups really £150 new now?
The last E34 one I bought a few years back was £25. I bought an M40 one for £9 last year!

No it was a so called 360hp cabby built by a well known con artist/re-mapper, it was very well known about 10 years ago when the pictures/stories were doing the rounds! :D

The lambda wires were cut off at the sensors James

£150 is ridiculous, id rather make one from an E36 pickup, just be sure it sits at the correct distance from the bottom of the sump

Oh, is that a Zoom Motorsport manifold then? Did it have the special Zoom intake plenum?

Easier said then done dan , almost blind fabbing .. Iirc pickups need to be 4mm from sump base .. Without sacrificing a e34 sump to cut a window in , that's a tough job ..
