hi has anyone done this?
using the m54b30 crank rods and pistons and inlet cam..
the cams aparently longer so needs a little machining is this true?
and is there any other things that might need doing or is it a strait fit other than that?

Can't comment on cams but everything else is a straight fit.
Would recommend doing rings and obviously all the shells while it is apart. Would be worth getting the bores inspected to see if they need a fresh hone

100% hone them if fitting new rings
Inlet cam fits and works fine with 5mm-ish taken off - http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... highlight=
Replace the vanos seals whilst its apart
