While the engine is out and getting rebuilt, I'm wondering if it is worth either installing a new oil pump or if there is anything considered a worthwhile upgrade?

I'll be welding the nut on.

Thanks

Not heard of many M52 swappers doing much with their oil pump, VAC motorsport do an upratted exchange pump rebuilt with higher output and stronger pump shaft, with a split pin nut guranteed not to fail, ( they recon shafts can fail even if the nut stays in place).
Not cheap, but how necesarry it is who knows!

Cheers I'll have a look but I always find VAC stuff quite overpriced. Was hoping there might be an OEM solution

New OEM I'd say is your best bet

Not really heard of the flow from the pump ever being an issue, these are tough gear pumps not vane pumps.

I don't know of anyone in the uk offering the uprated pump shafts.
