Just back from the rolling road for the 3rd time in 2 weeks trying to figure out this running issue. the car has been running super super lean, like off the charts fresh air out the exhaust. lol

the diagnostics unit is showing that the MAF is totally gubbed and the air is 100 degrees C coming in the intake and the coolant temp is 195 degrees C. lol
has anyone encountered these issues?

also,

does anyone know if this is the right temp sensor? and where is it located??

also
has anyone had any experience with non genuine MAF's? BMW are asking a fortune for a genuine one.

Ive had strange air temp readings before due to a faulty ECU, first thing id do is try another
Replacing everything that is listed as a fault code is a very expensive way of finding your problem!

it wasnt even listed as a fault code. the guy had to go into the program and read the data the sensors were producing and conclude that they weren't reading accurate. they still show as working there just way out of the normal operating parameters.

swapping an ecu out seems to be a far more time consuming and costly job than just 2 clips for the MAF and a £20 temp sensor.

but on that note do you know where the ecu would be mounted now??
