In addition to the fan issue below, I also have a bit of a rattle. I'm wondering if this is the 'common' VANOS rattle?
The rattle comes and goes periodically when the engine is cold, every 3 or 4 seconds its audible then fades away. When the engine warms up, it disappears completely, until you give it some revs. Then it reappears and once again, disappears, once the engine has idled for a little while. Rattle appears to be coming from the top end but difficult to source wherebouts exactly...
