M52B28 oil capacity?

Hi guys, just wondering what the correct oil capacity is for a 2.8 M52? Going to do my first oil change this weekend so just need to check this now. I read somewhere that its 6.5 litres - is that correct? I don't have access to any BMW publications to check though.

6.5L

use 5-40w full sync.

others will tell you otherwise but its gone me great

does it eat oil?

7L of fully synth 5w30 is what mine had

capacity is 6.5l but the filter housing ect will hold a bit so it will be nearer 7 by the time you have ran it up and checked the level again.

The motor has only just gone in and I've done a few miles. I want to do a flush as well as a change to clean it out, so I'm not sure if its drinking oil a bit. Time will tell!
