Hey all,
About to convert my '91 318iS to M52 (Literally - picking up the engine tomorrow) and just have a couple of questions..
I'm keeping my iS gearbox, planning on changing to a 3.64 Diff, and will be installing a Sachs 325 Clutch kit - Can i use my M42 flywheel and starter, or is the M20 far more suitable? If it IS possible, does it require the same machining down that the M20 flywheel does? And can anyone recommend anywhere to machine the flywheel?
Lastly.. if anyone has any info on whether this set up will need any modifying of the gear linkage or gearbox mounts, i would be very grateful! I think it's the last gap in my knowledge, but i'm sure i'll find more questions as i delve into the project further.. ;)

Just in case anyone else ends up in this situation, i myself have decided to go with an M20 flywheel, machined down - Couldn't find enough info supporting the M42 flywheel, and i'll be using a Sachs 325 clutch anyway.
