M52 Replacing Exhaust manifold gaskets (Studs?)

So 23 of the 24 studs came out of the head when removing the manifolds from the head.

My plan is to

1)Remove the nuts from the studs

2)Clean the studs up

3)Screw the studs back into the head

4)Refit the manifolds and reinstall the nuts.

Does this sound the best way to do it?

Should I use loctite on the studs going into the heads? (I appreciate it will probably burn off when the engine is started)

i would re-fit them with a tiny amount of loctite or a smidge of grease

Normally a smidge of copper grease for me, stop them seizing. Thread on 2 nuts and wind in with a spanner/ratchet, then remove the nuts again. This makes sure they wound all the way in and properly seated. Don't overtighten

I would get new ones , there not too dear from bmw tbh . its what i did anyhow .

Clean any manky threads and grease or oil them up before refitting, no point trying to remove the nuts from the studs
