Got a 1998ish M52 and a 1996 engine loom (don't ask!).
The 98 sensor, fits at the rear of the engine and has a plug with rounded edges without a lead from it, the 96 loom has a oblong plug and the two won't join.
Will the earlier type of sensor with a flying lead, fit into this engine loom and will it provide the correct signal.
I'm assuming that the 96 loom takes the flying lead sensor and not a third design I know nothing about!
