Evening all, our M52 engined track car is finally nearing completion so thought I'd better try running it for an extended period of time and I've found a problem.
It starts and runs cold perfectly, but once it gets warmer after 10 minutes or so it starts to get a bit lumpy, then if you give it some revs then try and let it idle, it'll hunt around a bit and eventually cut out. It then won't restart, I can hear it wants to, it splutters but won't run.
I've never been 100% convinced of the temp sensor wiring. Here's what I've got:
4-Wire sensor in the head, I need to try and trace this through to see where it ends up... Where should each wire end up?
Brown temp sensor in radiator, I've got a brown wire spliced in between the ECU plugs. The temp gauge in the dials works perfectly.
I'm annoyed with myself for taping and tidying everything up now, I'm going to have to rip it all to pieces on Saturday... I really don't want to take the inlet manifold off to get at the sensor under there.
Even if it's a bodge, is there any sure-fire thing I can do to prove/disprove my theory that it's temp sensor related?
