I'm putting the engine back together and finding small problems and the like holding me back.

First up, should I be using a m50 or m52 PS pump? I went to fit mine earlier and there's a hose which clashes with the sump if I try to fit it in the correct position.

I also have this little bracket left over that I'm not sure of where it goes:

And what plugs into these two guys on top of the manifold?

I have one connector on my engine loom that looks like it could go there but I don't think it fits around that way and is for a temp sensor?

Also is this connection correct:

You should use whichever pump fits with the type of oil filter housing + alternator you have. Ie, an m52 housing should use and m52 p/s pump and an m50 housing should use an m50 pump. I fitted an m50 oil filter housing and alternator to my m52 so i'm using an m50 p/s pump without any issues.

I can't say i recognise where the bracket goes.

The plugs ontop of the manifold are for the lambda sensors (i always forget which one plugs to which manifold!)

The last pic - yes, the vanos solenoid plugs into the end of the injector wiring cover.

Everything there is from the engine in the pics except the sump, it's a 5series engine so maybe the pump was a little bigger cause the e39 is heavier than a e36?! I'll look into getting a pump from a e36 if I can make this one fit.

Anyone know which order the lambda's go in? I thought I lost them both but found them on the old e39 loom.

Bracket seems to go to the read of the block for the lambda wires.

the back plug is for the front manifold lambda, the front plug is for the rear bank lambda 8)
