I've been given the inspiration to do an m52b25 conversion to my e30. What exactly will i need?
Cheers

Can do it many ways. My advice is read through threads in this section, especially the sticky.
Highly recommend DanThe btw. Good prices, good service and always gives good advice.
I have gone for:
DanThe fan loom
DanThe engine loom
DanThe manifolds
DanThe steering linkage
Scorpion S/S exhaust
AKG Motorsport engine mounts (not cheap, can use other but my car will see heavy track use)
e34 m50 sump
e36 engine mounting arms
325i Sport gearbox and prop and 3.91 LSD
Lightened m20 flywheel
M20 started motor
Modified selector shaft
Modified gearbox cross member
Can't remember what rad, think it's an e36 one
Electric fan, found a suitable one at the junk yard
For hoses I have used Samco ones, but you can use OEM
Mk1 golf servo. Apparently the plastic winged Renault Clio one is a better unit, which I will upgrade to
Then there is all the little jobs you might as well do while you are at it. For me these have included:
Paddle clutch, recommend you fit a new clutch while it's apart
Z3 rack
4 pot brakes
88 degree thermostat and metal thermostat body
Since you are using an m52 (I used an m50 as it is getting boosted) you might as well fit an m50 inlet manifold and I am hearing good things about DanThe's remapped ecu. He can also offer EWS delete.
I have probably missed some things out, but that is the majority of it. Budget around £2k to do a proper job, it can be done cheaper though.

Also what car are you starting with?
As you should really go with 51mm struts/rear disc conversion if you don't already have them. Also if it's a 4 pot you need to do something with the coding plug in the clocks I believe

3 bits of advice from me
1 know exactly what you are doing for every part of the conversion before you start. (gearbox, servo, wiring)
2 dont buy an unknown engine, its probably best to buy a donor vehicle
3 compile all the parts before you start - it will really drag it out waiting for bits to come
i didnt follow these bits of advice, and it cost me big time! both financially and in time

could`nt agree more about sourcing all parts first its a big lump to be imobile.
Depending on your mechanicle ability i would allow 3-5 full days unless you have a full workshop with 2 post ramp ect in which case 2 days is optamistic but doable on a first go.
