my uncle has an e36 323i (m52b25) and his starter has given up. i have just dug out a starter i had on my first engine, my m50b25. checked the part number on real oem and it states this motor was found in an e34 525 with m50 engine.. correct lol.

as these engines are all pretty identical, my question is can i use this on his car? they all had dual mass flywheels fitted so this would work wouldnt it?

Iv wasted countless hours and foul language on the starter in my m52 build. I found part numbers to be miss leading. My tip would be to double check the number and shape of the teeth on the starter, AND check that it works by giving it 12v and watching the pin come out and spin before you install it.
