Right my M50 seems to have got a problem!

It will start first time everything when it's cold, but if I go for a spirited drive for 30+ mins go for a pint and come back to it 30mims later it will not start........

If I keep repeatedly cranking it 10 times+ then it will sort of start but it doesn't inspire confidence.

Has anyone got any ideas please.

Thanks

Mark ;)

just a guess but sticking fuel pressure regulator?

or some other fuelling issue

does it splutter when its cranking?

does it kick into life like normal after cranking it on a hot start or splutter and eventually go?

will it hot start if you dont go for a pint and try it immediately?

FPR... hmmm

Doesnt splutter just crannks and cranks and cranks

Thenon abour 4th attempt at cranking it starts with a slight splutter.

If I leave it for a few minutes it still does this but not as bad as leaving it for 30mins +

Anyother ideas?

Ive been reading and someone said engine temp sensor?

if it was engine temp id expect issues whilst running aswell?

it sounds like the fuel system is de pressurising then taking its time repressurising

is an m50 manifold fitted?
if so and you are on high load for a long time does it lean out and missfire?

have you checked that your ews is clicking at the right time? if it was sticking or something i guess it could be possible that it would stop it starting....but then again that wouldnt explain the difference in the time it takes to start, after you have left it for a shorter amount of time

im no expert by the way mate im just having a dig

Hmm

No EWS

Its a M50 engine anyway so yes it has the Manifold ;)

Doesnt seem to lean out, and I dont have any misfire!

But if the the fuel tank depressures, sure I would have a cold start issue aswell!

Cold start is perfect everytime.

I am very confused.

Indeedy, biggest give away of the blue sensor is hot running problems, perfect when cold, crap when hot. Ive had engines even cut out once they have warmed up because the sensor has been so bad

Will replace the blue sensor then ;)

Where can I find a part number?
