hi, has anyone got any specifications as to what i should cut my manifolds down to clear the steering column.
ie how much shall i cut off the tubes on the rear manifold.

There's quite a few pics splattered around the place, but here's mine:

Basically get it as close to the bolt on the far tube as possible. I was tempted to ask my mate to remove it altogether so I can be absolutely sure on clearance, but these manifolds have been shaped in this way by design, so I didn't want to remove too much in case there were any ill-effects.

yeah, just the rear needs some cutting of the pipes near the flange at the top, this makes the pipes hug in nearer the side of the block and keeps the down pipe away from the steering linkage, don't have them in too far though otherwise the down pipe will want to mate with the edge of the gearbox bell housing.
The front manifold does not need chopping at the top, but you do need to cut off the flange where the downpipe mates and adjust the angle to get over the front cross member and around the rack pinion housing.
