BBTB's

I'm just looking at my options here for BBTB's amd just need a few quick questions answered.

I've the m50 mani and TB at the moment installed on mine currently.

What's the largest internal diameter the m50 TB can be taken to?

What's the largest internal diameter the m52 TB can be taken to?

What's the best one to use, pro's and con's if any?

Any other info you know of as well that might prove useful!

I know the m20 ones go from 60-64 mm, so as a guess m50 would be 64 - 68? Dont know how thick the walls are? Even 1 mm off would be 66 mm

I found a couple on ebay by someone in lithuania, M50 TB was 68mm and the m52 was 68.5mm.

I guess that's answered if that's been taken to the max. But is there any performance benefit to refitting the m52 TB with an extra .5mm internal diameter?

Also IIRC you need a metal spacer between the mani and TB if you're fitting the m52 one on the m50 mani. Assuming this can just been a few mm thick as it's just a plate?

Just bore the m50 item!

Iirc the rubber gasket on an m50 is on the manifold, its the other way round on an m52........

This one is supposedly 15% larger than stock? I think the internal diameter & butterfly are usually 64mm and this has been taken out to 68.5mm. Obviously it's been cleaned & polished too. It was £110 delivered which isn't bad compared to their m50 inlet which they wanted £557 for!

I rang because, rather naively, I thought that price was fitted! I almost choked on my coffee when the guy said it was for the manifold alone! I told him I bought mine for £75 and he just said ''good luck getting one for that much'' so I hung up.

It was £553 not 557 or £775 fitted.

That's a nice price, only one's on there at the moment are about £80/£85 posted.
I might be worth just buying one rather then getting mine worked. Although I could see if the engineering student at college are able to do it for free.
