M52 recall

I have started my M52 swap and and helping a mate get his started as well. I found a good candidate for him, a 04/1995 328 with 110k. I called my local BMW dealership with the chassis # to find out if the steel liner recall has been preformed on this and they told me that recall was never issued for this car. Should one of been issued or were there some engines that came with them from the factory?

It should have been issued afaik..

The was no 'recall' AFAIK it was just a case of turn up at the dealer and give them hell if your engine died which meant you got a new short engine.
Its easy to tell just by looking at the engine if it has steel liners, plenty of guides on here and the rest of the net
