how fast is your 325?
Moderator: martauto
I have e30 with m50b25 with vanos and mine is going 0-60mph in 8,8 sec. (measured with stopper)
its not good?
only modification is that I have 6,2 kg flywheel from m20.
and last exhaust muffler is from m40b18 - is that the reason why it is so slow?
box and differential is from m40 too. dif is 4.xx

The exhaust will be restricting a lot and you are probably needing to change into 3rd gear well before 60mph with that diff ratio.
I know they are faster, but my M52 B28 is doing 0-60 in 5.6

Jesus! How are you getting it off the line that fast? What setup are you using engine, wheels and suspension? Is it stripped?E30BeemerLad wrote:The exhaust will be restricting a lot and you are probably needing to change into 3rd gear well before 60mph with that diff ratio.

It's just a 2dr chromie, M52 engine, 318is gearbox, 3.91 LSD, 16" wheels, 205 width Toyo proxes tyres, car in full road trim.
Just teqhnique I guess, getting the bite point on the clutch right and not spinning the rears up too much when leaving the line.
5.6 was my best time of the day, but it consistently did 5.8 0-60 times for the rest of the day

At a guess mines well under 7 seconds but its had a bit done to it! Fully stripped, r888's, stroked to 2.7, chipped, exhaust and manifold, K & N panel filter etc etc

Is your vanos working correctly?
THISI'd say the exhaust was strangling it massively!
its all very well having a big lump but the bitch has to be able to breath well. my m50 was doing late 6's so something is definatly a miss on yours mate!
i have 2'5' custom exhaust, this seems to work very well
A 2 door e30 with 8 cylinders, what could be better

this is the same spec as mine....ive also lightened the m20 fly wheel ans fitted m50 manifold...it gets to 120 quicker than my e36 m3 evo 6 speed....they are animals
i think thres something wrong with your vanos!!!
