later lamda onto earlyer loom,wrong plugs and colours?

got a complete engine and loom,but no manifolds or lamda plug,got a set of stainless type manifolds from breakers with lamda on both.only want to use one but wires dont match nor plugs.
loom socket is.
1,black
2,white (silver lined?)
3,brown
4,green

the lamda i have are bmw and as follows
1,white
2,yellow
3,red
4,black
any advice,is this normal,please ,note-m50 e36 loom

The lambda's are m52 items and yes the colours wont match your m50 loom.
Would be a wise point for me to make here but parts like lambda's and blue sensors ect are things best bought brand new. They are about 60 odd quid in gsf.
I wired in lambdas on my m52 and it cost me a full loom and ews (burnt out and right back to loom ect) which I had to re buy! Obv you don't have ews to worry about but get it wrong and it WILL cost you...

ok thats fine,what model do i need to get from ,just a e36 325i ?what year?

What year is the engine?
A 2 door e30 with 8 cylinders, what could be better winkeye :D

Basically go in and ask for a lambda sensor for a "bmw m50b25" engine.

If its got vanos its a "bmw m50b25tu"
If it hasn't got vanos "bmw m50b25".

If your loom is e36 then tell them the car is an e36 325 with the above engine code 8)

E34 M50 has a longer cable on the sensor, even though its the same sensor and plug etc

cheers,its a single vanos engine on the original loom.
