m52 miss firing??

Just put m52 engine in my car 2 days ago and I've been driving it around since with no problems.

I went for a drive to bridgend (35 mile trip) and car performing fine, temp guage in the middle, just over at max at any time!...... However, I get back to my town and she has started to miss and smells of fuel from the exhaust!

Why is this? No mayonaise ect, no excess pressure in cooling system and no overheating!!

Please help, I've only had the fukin engine in 2 days and I ripped out a totaly healthy m50 to do this :(

Could be a coilpack mate

I'd pull the plugs and see if any of them look a different colour. I have some spare M52 coils.

Cheers lee, I just stuck a grand into this car again! Lsd included in the price mind.....

Just drove it home and it idles lumpy and misses up to around 4k and then there's power as it should be. Past 4-4500 she's normal. Please tell me this is nothing serious as I am literally broke over this car, all my money went into her :(

i had recently with my e46 coupe, thought it was a coil pack turned out to be a fouled plug :)

I would check the plugs mate and see if they tell a story.

Could be a crank sensor - does it start first flick of the key or do you have to crank it over for a second or two before it fires?

Could be a cam sensor

Could be something daft like the vacum pipe to the fuel pressure regulator has come off or is split.

Ripped the plugs out and they were bosch super plus, shite basically!
I've put a set of ngkR's in now so that's good......

The vac pipe that goes from the idle control valve to the back of the inlet had come out so put that back in.

1 thing I've noticed is with the lambda's unplugged the engine runs fine but when I plugged in the back 1 she ran like shit so I guess that's the main problem! Well I'd say all of the above combined made for a big problem tbh

Have you got the lambda from the rear exhaust branch connected to the plug nearest the front of the engine?

cylinders 1-3 plug into the rear plug and 4-6 into the front plug
