starter problem

I have e30 where is m50b25tu swapped in.

but starter wont crancking engine.

there are m20 flywheel and clutch with getrag 240 box.

I tried use m20 starter but it is too big.
now there are m40 starter motor witch have same 9 teeth ratchet. once it crancking the engine but no more.

starter working perfectly if it is on table and I testing with battery.

what is wrong?

the starter is not meshing with the flywheel the gear on your starter must be wrong? is the gear coming out to where it should when you test it? may be a bit dry on the shaft

If you are using an m20 flywheel you need an m20 starter, anything else has a different gear and will not mesh properly

Sounds like your using the early M20 starter which has a bigger body.
Get a starter from a facelift M20 and you will be fine.

yes, Iuse early m20 starter what not fit in place.

flywheel is too from early model.

m40 starter looks like everything same as m20 starter. but maybe theres something something bad yes.

M40 has a different pinion gear from the M20, and won't work with a M20 flywheel.
As said above, any later M20 starter will fit.

in here no one dont have starter from facelifted M20.
I´m looked it for a month, but there are not any starters.

I get some info that m20 starter from E34 maybe fit.

have someone tryed starter from E34 with m20 engine?

I've been looking in to this as my Later m20 starter does not always mesh with the early m20 flywheel I got an the teath are a different pitch so you need the gear taken out of the early starter an put in to the small body starter if your using a early flywheel or change for a later flywheel! That's what I've got to
