m52 coolant temp sender

i know i have to use an m20 coolant temp sender on my m52 conversion but where does this get fitted on the M52 engine? i can only find one temp sender which has a round 4 pin connector going to it, i assume this temp sender is for the ecu though rather than the gauge?

you must have a later head.
The outlet to the right of the sender plug doesn't get used, but the plug thread is bigger than the hole and needs taking out a bit.
That's all I know on the matter, someone will be able to help with the thread size and the size tap you will need

E30 brown sensor in the middle
The blanked off hole on the right is where the throttle heater pipe used to join
If you only have two holes its best to get the brown sender turned down to a 12mm thread and fit it in place of the throttle heater outlet
