Cleaning m50 inlet manifold

Anyone got a proven technique of how to effectively clean the oily grimey skank out of the inlet manifold? its intricate shape obviously prevents you being able to scrub all the internal surfaces effectively.

i have heard the dishwasher is a good place, but i have to eat off plates that have been in there afterwards and dont fancy eating the shite out of my manifold lol

ha ha, i've never done it, but my mate has just run the heads off his mr2 v6 through a cycle!!! came out well!!!

Are you talking about cleaning the inside of it or just the external surfaces? Read some where that unless you can clean 100% of all carbon deposits of the inside not to bother as it may break away and could cause problems.

I emptied two cans of carb cleaner into mine, blanked off all the holes and shook it around for 5 minutes, Epic amounts of black gooey mess came out ;)

This is the argument for using a catch-can instead of looping the crank-vent back into the intake.
