24v airbox

Is there an airbox that will fit a 24v e30 with abs . i would like to leave the abs pump where it is if poss . tia

I think you can mod an M30 airbox to fit (not sure if the ABS gets in the way though). From memory, you can actually get the MAF in side the M30 box, so if done well it makes the bay look quite tidy.

Ive got one here (spare) if you want me to measure up.

I think your right james - i think the only one that will fit is the m30 one. Eko fitted one to one of his a few years ago. There is a writeup in one of his threads on here somewhere.

I`ve made brackets and that for the cone but
dont realy want to use the cone unless i have to.

I had a spare M30 airbox but think I threw it out in the end as I could not see how the damn thing would ever fit, so just used a cone filter on the touring due to the pesky ABS being in the way

No, for both questions.
Ive got one here to try with the S50, but it just wont fit.

The only option at the moment is a decent cone filter and heat shield. You can use the S50 airbox, but its a lot of hard work moving the ABS pump etc.

No ABS will make it easier, but TBH I dont know what else as I never tried fitting the S50 airbox, sorry.

E36 airbox is a much better way to go, the intake hole is much larger and in a better location for the E30 grills, on basic road testing I was getting up to 10° cooler intake temps than with the M30 box

is that actually from the e36 or have you modded part of it? I noticed that you need to cut part of it away or it catches on the headlights and you appear to have an e39 style one that doesnt have the "bar" pointing out of it if you understanda what i mean?

Its just an early E36 box, I think they started coming with the extra bit when the M52's came about

It is close to the headlamps but not touching

The E39 box is fooking huge, it doesnt look that big when in the bay but the underside of it goes off into the wing and all sorts

yeh, ive been doing some top butchering tonight

off tomorrow so its a whole day of making things fit badly, including the exhaust manifolds if i'm lucky.

i can't get the box to fit . it is hitting the tank on the side of my radiator . i will have to take a trip to the scrap yard with a tape measure .
