Hi all,

Been told on here that I can't use the E34 M50 power steering pump with my E36 rack as I'll blow the seals.

I phoned a guy up about an E36 pump and he said that they were the same at around 100-120 bar or something like that.

Can anyone tell me the difference in the pumps.

I looked on realoem and found that the parts number differ slightly

32411137082 - E34
32411137952 - E36

Cheers

Stu

I think it may be the pumps from the E34 tourings which are no good as they have an additional outlet for the self levelling rear suspension and operate at a higher rate, but not 100% on that.

I knew that the 3 outlet pumps were no good, but I was told that e34 pas pumps were too 'powerful' for an e36 rack as the e34 is used with a steering box?!?!?!

Oh well, if other people are using one with no probs then i'll do the same.
