Hi guys, i currently drives an E30 with M50 engine. I need opinions on exhaust setup.
my current setup:
-m52 extractors
-twin stainless steel bullets/resonator (15" length if i remembered correctly)
-E46 330i supersprint exhaust (twin inlet)
- 2 x 2" exhaust piping
my current dilemma is that my centre bullets (oval shapes) are too wide and due to e30 have limited space underneath the car, my bullets need to be placed lower to prevent the bullets from hitting the chassis, by mounting it lower, i tend to scrap almost every bump even when i travel alone in the car.
with my current exhaust setup as above, im having drones no matter what speed im travelling, but it sounds great during WOT.
Now my goal is to reduce the drones but sounds great when WOT. Any ideas?
my question to those who have changed their exhaust system,
1) How long is your bullet/resonator?
2) Is a single 2.5" piping size equivalent to 2 x 2" piping size?
3) Do you have an "X" pipe welded before the resonators and do i even have to bother about the x pipe?
THis is a clip of how my exhaust sounds like now

Thank you for your time

To keep the noise down you need a centre box really, placed in the standard position you wont have any clearance issues
Changing to single pipe is a bad move IMO, you would need close to 3 inch diameter to be equal to twin 2 inch

any idea how big the centre box should be in terms of measurement? Do you have an example of how it would sound like?
Thank you
