Hi Guys,

I have been offered a complete car E36 2.8 Tourer in response to my ad for a an engine and gearbox and am very interested but a little concerned about the mileage... 195,000 miles.

I know very little about these engines and would like to know what people think about putting an engine with that sort of mileage in my track day E30.

It does have an extensive service history and is currently owned by a zoner.

See below for history.

Dont see a problem with the mileage as long as its priced with that in mind.
My M52 has covered many more miles than that and it sounds like its done 50K.

Yeah I would but only if the price is right, unless a lower milage one comes up. Is there much diference in price compaired to a breakers?

Try and find out if the block has been replaced in those 195K that might reasure you.

In that case definitely shop about. Read up on Nikasil bore linings (overexagerated issue IMO) and check for signs of overheating before you buy.
