M52 timing chain/belt

Hi there, after how many miles should the timing chain/belt should be changed also who would you recomend as a supplier I guess genuine BMW are the way to go forward, but are there any comparable aftermarket ones out there?
E30 340i project in progress now 328 turbo

You dont need to change the chains on these, change the belt when it falls apart or starts squealing
