Hi, I've been off here for a while. After my M52 swap I've had a few issues with cheap parts I've bought off eBay and through ECP. I had a heater matrix explode in the footwell, I had two idler pulleys and a water pump go since I renewed them at time of swap, done under 10K.
Just my opinion but I reckon it's better to get OEM parts if you can, saves doing it again a year later.

Just out of interest, how expensive is it to do a M52 swap these days?
I didn't really keep tally I'm afraid. It all adds up though, loads of bits to get hold of. Lots depends on how much work you do yourself. Reckon I must've spent about 3 grand overall.
It still makes me smile every time I drive it though
