Just wanted to check the following would work on a M52:
G240 gearbox, M50 single mass flywheel, E30 M20 clutch and release bearing (not a taller E21 unit)
Would be great if someone could confirm.

Yeh, I've just had some stupid quotes to lighten and balance a M20 flywheel so was looking at cheaper options.
I think I'm just going to have to spend the extra $$$ and do it properly.
What make of clutch did you go for and did you use a E21 release bearing?
Thanks!

yea know what you mean i paid 180 to get it lightened and balanced i looked for 6 months to find a cheaper way to no avail
the make is luk from ebay though it was advertised as a sachs, didn,t have time to send it back so ran it and figured id be putting a sachs one in sooner or later. the release bearing is making some noise now but it could also be the bearing at the end of the gearbox as i installed the gearbox in after the engine was in
big mistake as it took all day and was bloody hard to line up lying under the car not having a clutch alignment tool didn,t help so now im on the lookout for the propper sachs clutch all i seem to find when looking is 327 and 324d clutches
on the bright side the clutch doesn't slip and i,ve got a m50 manifold and got the ecu remapped when deleting ews, can have this luk clutch if you want it if i can find a sachs clutch i,ll replace in the next few weeks
as for the e21 bearing i couldn,t find one at a decent price ( 70-80) at the dealers so did what someone in america did and welded a bit were the bearing hits the fork about 6-7mm then grinded back smooth to 5mm the difference between e21 and e30 bearing length
had time back again (and will be doing this time) pay the extra and get someone to do not worth doing yourself unless you've got a hoist and clutch alignment tool
